So I conned a sight once and did her application for her because no one would let her in. And I felt terrible. She just wanted to learn, but I'm not all that great myself. I'm just good at putting myself in character.

Roleplaying isn't just about character building. It's about so many other things too. Understanding the topic, building a plot, building relationships. And yes, those start with character building, but it can't be the only thing you harp on.
